Trump Election Speech Sparks Fact-Check Firestorm
President Trump’s Thursday night primetime address alleging China accessed 220 million American voter files continued drawing scrutiny Friday, as election security experts and reporters found the declassified documents he cited did not support his broader fraud claims. Trump renewed his push for the stalled SAVE America Act, a voter ID measure, while critics noted repeated independent audits have found no evidence the 2020 vote count was altered. 1, 2
House GOP Unveils Funding Bill, Skips Voter ID Fight
House Republican leaders released text Friday for a bill funding most of the federal government through December 4, deliberately leaving out Trump’s SAVE America Act voter ID measure to avoid a shutdown fight before the midterms. Speaker Mike Johnson said he plans a floor vote next week on the clean continuing resolution, which contains no additional policy riders. Some Democrats are expected to back the bill after enduring two lengthy shutdowns this year. 3
Epstein Survivor Blasts Blanche as ‘Abrasive’ After Meeting
Epstein survivor Annie Farmer said Friday that a Thursday meeting with Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche left her more convinced the Senate should reject his confirmation, calling him “abrasive, condescending, and intentionally noncommittal.” Farmer said Blanche would not commit to investigating why her sister’s 1996 report on Epstein was ignored by the FBI. Blanche’s office said he is committed to prosecuting anyone who can be charged in connection with the Epstein case. 4
White House Suspends Aide Over Trump Speech Betting
The White House confirmed Thursday it suspended longtime presidential teleprompter operator Gabriel Perez amid a federal investigation into whether he used advance knowledge of Trump’s speeches to place winning bets on the prediction market Kalshi. Perez is alleged to have earned more than $90,000 wagering on so-called mention markets tied to the president’s remarks. The case has renewed questions about oversight gaps in prediction market regulation. 5

Wisconsin Democrat Drops Governor Bid in Shakeup
Wisconsin Lieutenant Governor Sara Rodriguez withdrew Friday from the state’s Democratic gubernatorial primary, just days after reports revealed disarray inside her campaign operation. Her exit reshapes the race to succeed term-limited Governor Tony Evers and hands an advantage to rivals seeking the party’s nomination in one of the nation’s most closely watched swing states ahead of next year’s election. 6
Maryland AG Faces Off With DOJ in Four Live Court Fights
Maryland Attorney General Anthony Brown’s office is now battling the Justice Department in four separate lawsuits, including a new Thursday filing challenging the state’s in-state tuition policy for immigrants without legal status. Maryland has already won a preliminary injunction blocking a planned immigration detention facility and successfully fought off a federal request for confidential voter data, though DOJ has appealed that ruling. 7
Paxton Campaign Pushes Back on Texas Voter Fraud Claim
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s U.S. Senate campaign said Friday it is refuting a formal complaint filed by the Collin County Democratic Party accusing him of illegally voting from a home he does not actually live in. The complaint, filed with the Texas secretary of state, followed a news investigation questioning where Paxton is registered to vote. Paxton, locked in a competitive GOP Senate primary, has not been charged with any crime. 8
