That’s the concern, Jimm. Wealth has always brought influence, but when that influence becomes concentrated enough to shape government, media, and public policy, the question becomes what safeguards are needed. Where would you draw the line between legitimate influence and too much power?
Do away with things like citizen United which opened the floodgates. Money should never change hands to ensure an action, whatever happened to reasonable dialogue and a request for consideration?
