After two failed votes and an all-night fight, the House passed a 10-day extension of Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act by unanimous consent early Friday. A five-year bill with minor reforms and a separate 18-month clean extension both collapsed when Republican members refused to get on board. Section 702 was set to expire Monday. Trump: Iran Deal Is Close; Lebanon Ceasefire Takes Effect
President Trump declared Thursday that a permanent Iran ceasefire is “very close” and that talks could resume in Islamabad this weekend. Early voting in Virginia’s redistricting referendum ends Saturday, ahead of the April 21 vote.
